After every Close Protection Conference we receive a lot of feedback from attendees. We appreciate this feedback and use it to improve the next year's conference. The IPSB knows that the panel presentations are usually the most popular and memorable aspect of the conference for most of the attendees.
We are pleased to offer a wide variety of conference topics this year that feature some of the most respected members of our industry!
There are a number of great options at CPC 2018 but we wanted to take some time to highlight the Outlier Protective Operations Panel. This panel will be led by one of our very own board members, Christian West. The panel will also include Byron Rodgers and Ivor Terret.

Christian West founded AS Solution because he couldn’t find an executive protection company he wanted to work for: the kind that replaces cookie-cutter security with a dedication to keeping clients safe – as well as happy and productive – all based on a solid understanding of the principal’s corporate culture and personal preferences.
A hands-on professional who leads from the front, Christian has developed and led protection programs in more than 170 countries for more than 25 years. He has worked all areas of protection from undercover to high-risk, government, corporate, celebrity and high net worth and has advised governments on maritime security and critical infrastructure protection. Christian has served as a close protection agent, team leader, EP specialist, EP manager and high-level consultant for Fortune 500 companies and also directed security efforts for world tours for major artists and the world’s largest IPO.
In addition to his ongoing efforts to professionalize the EP industry through leadership roles in ASIS and the IPSB, Christian is a sought-after EP trainer and security advisor in Europe and the United States. Christian is an active blogger who has written dozens of blogs on executive protection and has co-authored two successful books on executive protection: Corporate Executive Protection: An Introduction for Corporations and Security Professionals (2016) and Public figures, Private Lives: An Introduction to Protective Security for High Net Worth Individuals and Family Offices (2018). In 2017 he founded Asgaard Technologies to bring ProtectionManager to market; ProtectionManager is the world’s first app suite designed exclusively for the executive protection industry.

Byron Rodgers is a former United States Marine, OIF combat veteran turned executive protection agent. Since 2008 Byron has operated, supervised and organized private security operations in over 60 countries worldwide. He is an experienced combat leader who has worked with every client demographic that the industry has to offer. He's completed a BA in the science of psychology, is currently finishing a Masters degree in the counseling of psychology and is also a competitive shooter. In 2016 he became a published author after writing the book, "Finding Meaning After The Military, a combat service manual for every veteran facing the new battlefield of civilian life.”
Based in Orange County California as the CEO of Bravo Research Group, Byron is currently managing and facilitating a number of security initiatives on an international level. He is also Assistant Director at Harvest Christian Fellowship, a multi campus mega church of Pastor Greg Laurie. In 2016 Harvest Crusade’s held the largest single day evangelistic crusade ever with over 350,000 in live attendance at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
He has most recently launched a successful industry podcast called, "The Executive Protection Lifestyle" where he interviews significant industry specialists and professionals who have made an impact in the private sector. Wisdom, discipline and purpose, are his values and he passionately aims to contribute these intangibles in to everything that he does in life. He prides himself on his communication skills and endeavors to leave this world and most specifically the private security industry better than he found it.

Ivor Terret has been protecting people and places for over two decades in both the public and private sectors. He currently manages Enablement Advisors, an Israel based boutique risk mitigation consultancy with a global reach. Prior to that, Ivor was Vice President at AS Solution and is a co-author of the Amazon best-seller, Public People, Private Lives. Ivor holds an MSc in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester and is the ASIS Chairperson for the Israel Chapter.
