By the Industry ~ For the Industry!

We are looking forward to having you at the Close Protection Conference (CPC 2017) this December in Las Vegas. One of the most anticipated features of CPC 2017 is the IPSB Speaker Series. We have a terrific lineup of speakers, including Patrick Van Horne. Van Horne has established himself as a truly influential and innovative figure within the security industry and is a must-see speaker for those looking to improve their craft.

Van Horne has had a distinguished career marked by excellency in both the military and the private sector. Reaching the rank of Captain, he served in the Marine Corps for seven years. He performed two deployments to Iraq and was the acting Officer in Charge of a Mobile Training Team at the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton where he provided training for infantry battalions and regiments.

After serving in the military, Van Horne went on to co-found The CP Journal of which he is also the CEO. The CP Journal was launched in 2011 with the intention of offering supplemental training and educational material to Marines and soldiers and has since expanded to include members of local law enforcement agencies and private security professionals.

Finally, Van Horne is also the co-author of the seminal work Left of Bang: How the Marine Corps’ Combat Hunter Program Can Save Your Life. Left of Bang was published in 2014 and is routinely included on lists of must-read books for security practitioners.

Van Horne’s immense knowledge in the field of security training will undoubtedly lead to a memorable and beneficial takeaway for those enjoying the new IPSB Speaker Series. The lessons that he has learned from “developing proactive threat recognition programs for our nation's military, security professionals and police departments” will be shared in his CPC presentation. He will also “show how protectors who embrace a professional mindset can develop themselves to be ready to recognize threats, make decisions and take action”. By combining practical skills and tactical know-how along with the theoretical underpinnings of professionalism and preparedness, Patrick Van Horne’s presentation will offer something for everyone in attendance!

We hope you will join us at CPC2017!
